Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 September 2026
1. About this policy
This policy explains how Servecture handles personal information in connection with this website, enquiries, support and the Servecture applications. Contact: contact@servecture.com.
2. Restaurant operational data
Restaurant operational information entered into Servecture — which may include menu information, orders, reservations, customer contact details, staff information and transaction records — is designed to be stored locally on devices controlled by the restaurant, principally the Till iPad, and shared with authorised companion devices over the restaurant's local network.
Servecture does not provide cloud hosting or a remote backup of that operational database. We cannot remotely view, retrieve, reconstruct or recover that locally stored database if it is deleted, corrupted, inaccessible or lost.
3. The restaurant's responsibilities
The restaurant/operator decides what operational personal information it enters into the system and why it is used. Depending on the circumstances, the restaurant may therefore have its own responsibilities as a data controller. The restaurant is responsible for its lawful basis, transparency information, retention, security and handling of data-subject rights for information it controls.
4. Information you give Servecture directly
If you contact us by email or make a sales or support enquiry, we may receive information such as your name, business name, email address, telephone number if supplied, the content of your enquiry and information you choose to provide for support. We use this information to respond to enquiries, provide requested support, administer our relationship with you and keep appropriate business records.
5. Lawful bases
Where UK data-protection law applies, the lawful basis will depend on the activity. We may process enquiry and support information where necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract, perform a contract, comply with legal obligations, or pursue legitimate interests such as responding to business enquiries, supporting users, securing our services and maintaining appropriate business records. Where consent is legally required, we will seek it.
6. App Store and third-party services
Apple and any third-party services you choose to use may process information independently under their own terms and privacy notices. Servecture does not control Apple's processing. Internet-enabled features, such as external mapping, postcode or routing services if enabled in a product version, may also involve third-party processing and should be assessed against the configuration actually deployed.
7. Cookies and website analytics
This GitHub-ready version of the website does not intentionally set advertising or analytics cookies. If analytics, advertising, embedded media or other non-essential storage technologies are added later, this policy and the site's consent controls must be updated before those technologies are used where consent is required.
8. Sharing
We do not sell restaurant operational data. Information provided directly to Servecture may be disclosed to service providers where reasonably necessary to operate our business, to professional advisers, or where required by law. Any future providers should be assessed and this notice updated as appropriate.
9. Retention
The locally stored restaurant operational database remains under the restaurant's control and retention settings. For information sent directly to Servecture, we keep it only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant enquiry, support, contractual, legal or record-keeping purpose. Specific retention periods should be documented internally as Servecture's business systems are finalised.
10. Security
Restaurants are responsible for securing their devices, staff PINs, device passcodes, local network and backups. For personal information received directly by Servecture, we use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and service concerned.
11. Your rights
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, individuals may have rights concerning access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent. For information held directly by Servecture, contact contact@servecture.com. For data held solely in a restaurant's local Servecture installation, requests should normally be directed to that restaurant because Servecture cannot remotely access that local database.
12. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern about information handled directly by Servecture, contact us first at contact@servecture.com. Individuals in the UK may also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
13. International transfers
Servecture's local POS architecture does not itself transfer the restaurant's local operational database to Servecture. If future website, support, analytics or other providers involve international transfers of personal information, appropriate safeguards will be assessed and this policy updated where required.
14. Changes
We may update this policy when our products, website, suppliers or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this page with its revision date.
